Abu Simbel Sun Festival Tour in Egypt, In ancient Egypt, during the New kingdom, Egypt was ruled by a great king called Ramsses II, Ramsses II built many temples and many huge statues were erected for him in all over Egypt but his most famous temple was erected in the small village of Abu Simbel, There he builttwo temples, Abu Simbel the Great for himself and Abu Simbel the small for his wife, Abu Simbel temple internal chamber would light up two times a year, The first time on the anniversaryof Ramsses II ascension to Egypt throne, 22 nd February, and the other one on his birthday22nd October, It is one of the miracles of the Ancient world how the engineers were able to control itto make this internal chamber dark all the year , and enlight it by the sun rays only in these two dates. 

Itinerary

Day 1 - 16 February or 16 October
Upon your arrival to Cairo airport, our tour representative will meet you in the airport,
then direct transfer to your hotel, free time for leisure, at night sound and light show 
infront of the sphinx ( optional tour ).
Overnight in Cairo

Day 2  - 17 February or 17 October
Breakfast in hotel, meet your tour guide, go to visit Cairo attractions, the Egyptian pyramids
in Giza and the sphinx, then enjoy a lunch meal, then proceed tour to the Egyptian museum where
you will see Tut Ankh Amun treasures and golden mask, back to hotel, overnight in hotel
Overnight in Cairo

Day 3 -  18 February or  18 October
Early morning Enjoy your breakfast, then travel from Cairo to Hurghada ( 6 hours by private
airconditioned van or one hour by flight ), it depend on you to choose how to go to Hurghada
from Cairo, upon arrival to Hurghada, our tour representative will meet you in Hurghada, a tour
of 2 hours in a glass boat to see the under water life in Hurghada red sea, back to your hotel
in Hurghada, overnight in Hurghada

( Hurghada hotels can be Half board or all\'inclusive, depend on your choice when you book)

Day 4  - 19  February or 19 October
Enjoy your free day in Hurghada, Red sea activities and sports

Day 5   20 February or 20 October
Early morning breakfast, transfer from Hurghada to Luxor, driving 3 hours in desert to 
arrive Luxor, visit Luxor east bank, Karnak temple, Luxor temple , lunch in a tipical 
restaurant, transfer to your hotel in Luxor, overnight in Luxor.

Day 6   21 February or 21October
Breakfast in your hotel in Luxor, meet your tour guide, tour to visit Luxor west bank,
Hatshepsut temple, valley of kings, Memnon statues, lunch meal, free time for leisure or
optional tours, Overnight in Luxor

( If you want it with Nile river cruise, you can travel from Luxor to Aswan by a river
 cruise boat , so it will be no need to Luxor or Aswan hotels, because you will have accomodation
in the Nile cruise, cruises from Luxor to Aswan are or 3 or four nights) 

Day 7 21 February or 21 October
Early morning breakfast, driving 2.5 hours from Luxor to Aswan, guiided tours in Aswan to visit
the High dam, the unfinished obelisk, the temple of Philae, lunch meal, transfer for your hotel
and check in, afternoon felucca tour to visit the botanic garden, Overnight in Aswan

Day 8 - 22 February or 22 October
Early morning about at 2:00 am take your breakfast box from hotel, meet our tour Representative in
your hotel in Aswan, join a convoy drive to the Great Temples of Abu Simbel in their
sun festival day, Abu Simbel temple is located to the south of Aswan, it was built by Ramses Second,
 He wanted to represent himself as a God in the internal chamber which would light up two times a year,
 once on his ascension to the throne anniversary (in February, around the 22nd), and once on Ramses II
 birthday (in October, around the 22nd). Every year in these two dates it is the Sun Festival in Abu Simbel 
temples, crowds gather before sunrise to observe the stream of light gradually sneaking through Abu Simbel 
Great temple and enlight only the three statues of Ramses, Ra and Amun . while the God of darkness Ptah remains
 in the shade even on these two special days of the sun festival at Abu Simbel temples, After tours of the big 
Abu simbel temple dedicated for Ramses II, tour to the Small Abu Simbel temple dedicated to Nefertari, his wife, 
back to Aswan Overnight at your hotel in Aswan. 

Day 9 - 23 February or 23 October
Breakfast in hotel, transfer to Aswan train station or airport for final departure,or transfer to any of 
Aswan hotels or cruises if you want to stay longer in Egypt
