Day 2 Jerash & Amman ( Adventure Honeymoon Vacation In Egypt and Jordan )

Early morning drive to Jerash, which is located 45 km north of Amman, Jerash is a Jordanian old city With a history stretching back at least 2300 years, it is nestled in a quiet valley among the mountains of Gilead, is the grandeur of Imperial Rome being one of the largest and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the World outside Italyyou will visit the extraordinarily complete remains, which include a forum, a nymphaeum, hippodrome, two theatres (complete with numbered seats!) and several temples, date mainly from this period. Along the famous Colonnaded Street, grooves in the paving stones show where chariot wheels once rolled - kids will love playing gladiators! Elsewhere, remnants of exquisite mosaics still cover some floors.
You have ample time to wander the site and imagine life in ancient times, before going back to Amman for relaxation, or the opportunity to go to visit Amman sightseeings such as the citadel.

Day 3 Madaba, Nebo mountain, Kerak, Petra (
Adventure Honeymoon Vacation In Egypt and Jordan )

Madaba, Mount Nebo & Kerak, Petra Enjoy your early breakfast, then drive towards Petra, taking the Desert Highway. En route you drive to Madaba, famous for its 6th century mosaics set in the ground like giant jigsaws. The mosaic in the ruined Church of St Stephen in Um Al Rasas south of Madaba is quite exceptional, showing a central panel, much disfigured by "iconoclasts" in Byzantine times, but the side borders which you can see clearly here depict towns in Palestine, Egypt and Jordan. They are named for easier identification and give us an idea what these towns were actually like. It seems as if the images chosen were is some sort a "symbol" of that town at the time the mosaic was made - it has been dated to 785AD.While you are driving in the desert , may be you see the black beit ash shar tents of the hardy Bedouin who still wander throughout the Middle East as they have for centuries. Moving between the few grazing spots which dot the parched landscape, they survive by breeding goats, sheep and camels. Although the traditional nomadic way of life is starting to disappear as some Bedouin succumb to the lure of fixed accommodation, many adhere stolidly to the old way - albeit with the occasional addition of a 4WD vehicle for transport! Living in such a hostile environment has taught them the importance of a friendly welcome and the ancient code of hospitality to travellers still survives today.
Proceed to Petra and visit Little Petra along the way, Petra, the lost rose city, the royal treasury of the Nabataean era, is on the UNESCO World Heritage will have a ggod introduction about it , then you go to check in hotel and overnight in Petra hotel dreaming of discovering it better the following day

2 nights (B)

Day 4 Petra ( the lost city ) Discovering

Petra takes its name from the Greek word for ( rock ), Where Petra exactly is located was unknown in the West until 1812, when the Swiss explorer J.L. Burckhardt, a convert to Islam, made a short detour to sacrifice a goat at the nearby meli (tomb) of the prophet Harun. As he picked his way towards the foot of the mountain, he stumbled across the siq, the narrow defile that leads to Petra - and the rest is history. Since that day many others have made their way along the same path and, as Burckhardt must have done, gazed in awe at the splendid monuments that adorn this remote valley.Today you will follow the same path as Burckhardt, which funnels you through the banded rock walls that tower above.Petra was chosen as the capital of the Nabateans because it was located in a valley surrounded by sandstone mountains. There are many ways to get into Petra, but none of them are easy, and if the valleys are sealed, it is almost impossible for anyone to enter. The main entrance to Petra is called the Siq; it has sides as high as 200 m (650 feet ),
At the end of the kilometre-long path, you will be rewarded by a glimpse of the most beautiful building of all - El Khazna or Treasury, Its name Khazna means treasure, it was called treasury because of the Bedouin belief that the Pharaoh chasing the Israelites hid his treasure in the urn at the top of this place. Tomb facades were built from the top down. Scaffolding was built and then grooves were carved into the rock. Into these grooves were inserted pieces of wood, which when made wet, expanded and cracked the rock.
