The design of the architecture use was originally based on plants. The first shelters where built of branches interlaced by wattle-fences or even by bundles of feeds or palms.
In the Early Dynastic period, towards 3100B.C, wood and earth where brought together. The construction in palm trunks and trasformation of large branches into beams required the use of tools. Mud was used for the external walls with sloping faces, Seen later in stone enclosures with round summit. Mud -brick was used for vertical internal lines, translated into stones by Imhotep,Is seen throughout Pharaonic architecture.
