St. Catherine Tours from Dahab
It is a night trip to climb Moses mount and go to visit the monastery of Saint Catherine,, we pick up you from your hotels in Dahab at 11:00 pm, drive 2 hours to arrive Moses mount, The distance from Dahab is about 120 km, and the road from Dahab to Saint Catherine is a very good asphalted road, ascend Mount Sinai, (about 2-3 hours) and enjoy watching the breathtaking sunrise from the summit, Mount Sinai (Moses Mountain) rises 2285m and is said to be where God revealed the Ten Commandments to Moses. Mt Sinai is considered sacred by the Christian Jewish and Muslim religions.
To ascend to Gebel Musa ( Moses Mountain ) you can use the traditional monk trail with its 3750 steps all the way up to the peak, which is at a height of 2285 m. There is a longer and more comfortable way up where you can ride a donkey or a camel.
On the descent from Moses mount you will pay a visit to the monastery of Saint Catherine.
The monastery of St. Catherine, founded in the 6th century, is one of the most famous Greek-orthodox religious centres.
The monastery has never been destroyed in all its history, and thus it can be said to have preserved intact the distinctive qualities of its Greek and Roman heritage,
Pilgrims from all over the world used to travel to come to visit this holy place
since many years. Today tourists come to this area either to visit the monastery or to enjoy the overwhelming view from
